SAT Testing

Why take the SAT?

Why is the SAT important? The SAT is a critical component of your college application process. It provides colleges with a standardized measure of your academic abilities and can significantly impact your college admissions prospects. Additionally, a strong SAT score can open doors to scholarships and other opportunities.

Our Goal: We aim for every student to complete the SAT test by spring of their Junior Year. This will ensure that you are well-prepared for college applications and can take advantage of all the opportunities available to you.

Steps to Achieve This Goal:

  1. Register for the SAT: Make sure you are registered for the upcoming SAT test date. If you need assistance with registration, please contact your Wa-Hi Counselor or a GEAR UP staff member for help.
  2. Prepare Effectively: Utilize the resources available to you, including SAT prep classes, study guides, and online practice tests. Consistent practice can greatly improve your scores. Ask GEAR UP about upcoming SAT Prep sessions.
  3. Stay Informed: Attend the SAT information sessions we will be hosting this spring. These sessions will provide valuable tips and strategies for test day.
  4. Seek Support: If you have any questions or need additional support, do not hesitate to reach out to your teachers, counselors or GEAR UP. We are here to help you succeed.

Let’s work together to achieve this important milestone. Completing the SAT is a crucial step towards your future success, and I am confident that each of you can reach this goal with dedication and effort.

  • A student must have a 3.6 cumulative GPA
  • A student will be able to enroll only in those courses which are not offered at Wa-Hi.
