National Honor Society seniors in the Class of 2021 sponsored a coat drive for WWPS elementary grade school students. They set a goal of receiving 100 coats and received 96. Students made signs, solicited drop-off locations (Northwest Grain Growers, Staples, The Market by Andy's, Shari's Cafe and Pies, and the WaHi Commons for the two-week period. The challenge for this year's service project was to find an event that would allow all 47 seniors to participate in while still promoting social distancing, health and safety. Member Haeli Johnson got her church involved, while other seniors sustained a social media campaign. The NHS Coat Drive was chaired by members: Anthony McKeirnan, Emilee Henderson, Grady Lemma and Sydney Patton. Pictured above is Issaih Perez who volunteered for bin-delivery to a site.
