Dual Credit Courses:
There are several courses, primarily in specific Career and Technical areas, where a student can earn both high school and college credit at the same time through Walla Walla Community College or other Community and Technical College(s). This option is called “CTE Dual Credit.” These courses are indicated throughout this course catalog as “Dual Credit” courses. Students who complete the courses with a grade of “B” or better and meet the requirements of the articulated course from the college granting the CTE Dual Credit can earn Community/Technical college credit. Programs at Wa-Hi include Agriculture Education, Business Education, Teacher Academy and Child Development, Culinary Arts, and Welding and Metal Fabrication. A service fee for Dual Credits may apply.
WaHi also has College in the High School options for students to be dual enrolled in a WaHi class on campus and in a state college. For example, students can enroll in College in the High School in American Military History, and earn credits through Central Washington University, tuition free.
Lastly, students may enroll in Advanced Placement (AP) courses in the CTE Department and take an AP exam, with many colleges accepting passing scores to award students with college credit.

CTE TWO for ONE Policy:
Students who take CTE equivalent courses will satisfy two graduation requirements while earning one credit for a single year long course; hence, “two for one”. The purpose of this policy is to create flexibility for students to choose more elective courses or to address other graduation requirements.
