On Nov. 8, three of our athletes signed their National Letters of Intent to play softball after graduation.

Lauren Hoe, Faith Hoe and Kamryn Coleman have committed to play softball for Weber State University and Central Arkansas University, respectively. The ceremony was held in the Fletcher Room, which was decorated with the purple and silver colors of both universities. The families of both girls were in attendance, along with friends and former coaches of all three girls, who have played together on softball and volleyball teams for several years.

Lauren Hoe plays 3 sports here at Wa-Hi: volleyball, basketball and softball, and will play softball for Weber State University in Utah, starting in the fall of 2018. Lauren says she signed for softball because she was too short to play her other two favorite sports at a collegiate level, and she could not imagine going to school without her twin sister, Faith. She chose to sign at Weber State because she will have a chance to be on the field as an incoming freshman, but will still be challenged by a rigorous athletic commitment.

Faith Hoe is also going to Weber State University, alongside her twin sister Lauren. Faith plays volleyball and basketball for Wa-Hi, as well as softball. Although she loves playing her other sports, and says she will be bored throughout the year not playing them, she really couldn’t imagine not playing softball. Like Lauren, a big factor in signing with Weber State was being with her sister.

Kamryn Coleman will play softball for Central Arkansas University. Although she also plays volleyball, Coleman says she signed for softball because she has committed the majority of her time and energy to it. Coleman thanked her coaches and her parents for their constant support, but gave a special thanks to her father, as he helped her turn her backyard into a wiffle ball field for practice. Coleman chose to go to Central Arkansas University because she loves the familial atmosphere at the school, as well as the coaches.
