Big Fish nominated for 5th Avenue Awards

Due to the effort and skill executed in the fall musical production of “Big Fish,” Wa-Hi’s drama department has been nominated by The 5th Avenue 2017 Awards, to be recognized in multiple categories.

The 5th Avenue Awards focus on honoring exceptional achievement in high school musical theater productions, and celebrating the hard work and dedication contributed by students and teachers alike in producing such successful events.

“Big Fish” was nominated in the following categories:

Outstanding Overall Musical Production
Outstanding Direction
Outstanding Choreography
Outstanding Orchestra
Outstanding Scenic Design
Outstanding Stage Crew
Outstanding Performance by a Chorus
Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Featured Ensemble Role (Katy Payne as witch)
Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Featured Ensemble Role (Peter Hoffman as ensemble dancer)
Outstanding Lighting Design (Honorable Mention)
Outstanding Musical Direction (Honorable Mention)

The cast and crew of “Big Fish” will travel to Seattle, WA, on June 11 to attend the awards ceremony, to be held at Benaroya Hall on June 12.
