The varsity boys basketball team fell behind Richland on Feb. 5, with a 65-67 loss.

This defeat ended the boys' 11-game winning streak, but they still hold first in the division.

Senior Gary Winston made 28 points, and senior Michael Weisner scored 20. Junior Matt Watson led the Blue Devils with six rebounds, and Winston had six assists and three steals through the course of the game.

The team outplayed Chiawana on Feb. 6, leading to a 71-60 victory.

Weisner scored 25, with 12 rebounds and handed out seven assists throughout the night. Winston added 22 points to the team. Weisner and Winston combined 7-of-10 shots from 3-point line.

The team improved to 11-2 in league and 16-3 overall; and ranked fifth in the latest Class 4A state poll.

Before the game started, Weisner was honored for making his thousandth career point on Jan. 29 against Eisenhower.

The team will play again on Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m.

The varsity girls' basketball team beat Richaland on Feb. 5, 54-45.

Sophomore Jamie Weisner scored 13 in the fourth quarter to end the game high of 20 points. Senior Jill  McDaniels and sophomore Maddie Jacobson both finished with seven points for the night, and senior Alicia Baker dished out four assists.

The team defeated Chiawana on Feb 6, 62-37.

With the win for the Blue Devils, the Riverhawks are no longer undefeated.

Senior Vicki Reardon hit 3-of-4, Baker hit 1-of-2, and Weisner hit 8-of-9 from the free throw line. McDaniels finished the night with 14 points.

The Blue Devils are now 9-4 in the division.

The next game will be a double header on Feb. 9 against West Valley at 5:45 p.m. at Wa-Hi.
