Yamate-WaHi Japan Exchange Program 2019 Meeting

Monday, November 19th, 7:00pm in V-01 (Mr. Calhoun's room)

NEW: WE HAVE THE LIST OF STUDENTS COMING TO WALLA WALLA, and we are ready to start deciding which groups will stay with which families. The process of placing the Yamate students begins at our next meeting.

Interested in hosting Japanese students in April 2019? Interested in travelling to Japan during the summer of 2019? If so, come to our monthly evening meeting to learn about this exchange program that has been a wonderful part of the WaHi experience for over 40 years. Can't make the meeting? Winter Ball

Winter Ball will be held December 8, 2018 at the Walla Walla Fairgrounds.
Tickets prices: $10 with ASB card and $15 w/out ASB Card
Tickets for Wa-Hi Students Only will be sold at the door for $15 with a Wa-Hi ID card - no discount for having an ASB card.

Guests from another school are allowed to attend if they have obtained a Wa-Hi guest form and had it signed at their home school.
They will need to return that form to Wa-Hi and purchase a ticket for $15.
This must be done by Friday, November 30th.

FAFSA and WASFA

Seniors! The FAFSA and WASFA are available beginning today! These are really important documents for anyone looking at pursuing more education beyond Wa-Hi (at any Technical-2 year-4 year schools). Wa-Hi will be offering opportunities to help you complete this document during flex periods and in the evenings. It's our hope that nearly ever Wa-Hi senior completes either the FAFSA (for US Citizens) or the WASFA (for non-citizens). Questions? Ask the Career or Counseling Centers.

Lunch Area

Students please make sure you clean up your outdoor lunch area. Failure to do so may result in a smaller supervised lunch area to eat. Students are eating lunch near the creek etc. are leaving too much trash. If you like your eating area and freedom......keep it! CLEAN

Looking for a place to study, do homework, or get help with your classes? Come to Academic Lab in the GEAR UP room, A-33. Hours are Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri 2-4 pm & Wed 1:15-3:00 pm.

Parking

Students must park on campus and have their permit displayed. Students can pick up a parking permit application at the ASB office or security. Students may be fined for parking illegally and a hold slip placed. It's free parking......in designated areas.

Career Center-Volunteer Opportunities

In order to graduate, every senior needs to have 10 hours of Community Service/Volunteering for every year they attend Wa-Hi. That means that most seniors need 40 hours of community service upon graduation.

  • Albertsons is looking for people to hand out cider and hot cocoa for their Turkey Bucks events Saturdays and Sundays 11-6 October 20-November 11. If you're interested, please let Ms Curles know.

  • The Childrens Museum of Walla Walla is looking for volunteers for their Fall Festival October 20, 10-3. Email director@cmww.orgif you're interested!
